Digital Painting Sunday

You can find the work in progress and other sketches on my instagram, not sure for how long I will have the energy to post there. https://instagram.com/0nionface/

Since Twitch seems to constantly crash on me, I tried to record the session straight to drive, will have to see how it turned out. If it's good enough quality I will post an edited video with a bit of commentary.

"Nosotros", es mi palabra favorita en EspaƱol

It sounds like, "Nostromo". I tried to read Nostromo recently but found it impossible. Conrad's sentences are so long and meandering I can not keep focused. After just a few sentences I don't know which character or story line I am reading about, why, in which time period and whether I am reading the authors words or that of another character. After 6 chapters I finally gave up.

Derelict

As I'm about to head off for another adventure in about an hour, two things I must do. Firstly make a quick post, lest I let this blog die a cold and lonely death. And secondly to drink a substantial amount of my dwindling Vodka stash, with an aim to finish it, so I can have the correct drunken composure required for my check in and take off.

Lately I have been revising my knowledge of brushes, and drawing techniques, doing a lot of playing around and finding new interest in old places. Mostly concerning the formation and foundation of the initial painting, ways to find shapes and subject without planning. So below you will see some thumbnails and speed-painting that will hopefully later evolve into something of more import.

Protozoans Of The Sketchbook

So these are some sketches from the sketchbook, with a bit of color thrown over the top. This first one was the result of sleeping on my rooftop terrace in Instanbul. It was about 4 or 5am when the friendly neighbourhood mosques decided to scream their ode to Allah, in the process waking me from my drunken slumber. My first thought was, " Did I just pay the kebab man 5 lira, or 50? " This is because the 5 and 50 note are quite similar in appearance.
I decided that the next day, as soon as my hangover had worn off I would rectify this problem by redesigning the money. This is one of the doodles I did for it.
I think it would be good to highlight women scholars from Turkish history, and encourage more women of today to pursue careers of their own, particularly in the Science and Education fields. Ulimately the public consensus should not be one that allows the objectification/ownership of women, regardless of culture or tradition. I think as a species we have outgrown those shackles. And this my friends is why I choose to draw Turkish titties - to liberate the women of the world.... and because titties are bouncy and joyous ..... so much better than testicles.

Big Daddy Demo

These are some creature designs I did for the live demo class today.
Probably been my favourite lesson to do so far, something about drawing monsters just relaxes me.
