Lord of The Rings - Card Art

Here are two Lord of The Rings enviroment concepts I did last year sometime.
For Fantasy Flight Games. Both concepts were done for the same enviroment, the snowy mountains were droped because some research revealed the enviroment should be free of snow and plants. So I went ahead with the concept on the left. The final image will be included in the latest LOTR games pack, released this month I believe. Nothing spectacular, and I think the print will be only 3 inches or smaller in size. Stil, always fun to work on LOTR stuff.

UPDATE:

Walaaa, the card as it appears on line. " The Doors of Armon Lanc " was the original title of this piece, now it appears to be called something else. I don't know when this was released, I actually found it by accident, when I was searching my name online in regards to something else.

Hellboy Bust

So this is my second attempt at sculpting. decided to do a head this time since my first sculpt was a body. Good 'ol Hellboy. It's not done yet, but getting close. Will hopefully have an update on this in a few weeks, would love to do the entire figure with costume. But don't think I will have the time. O well, will see. This also reminds me how much I need a proper camera, these shots are terrible quality.

Phallic Monster Gallery

A couple creatures from a series of many. I think these are a couple years old already, but I like em. All the beasties were based on human genitals, so research was of course fun. Just decided to post these after so many life drawings and plein air stuff in previous posts, thought my blog needed a bit more original onionface flavour. Also looking through old stuff recently wanting to find old projects to continue.

Plein Air Painting, Kind of.

The view from my kitchen window. My previous apartment. I got to sit by the heater drinking beer, and working on the laptop. So I don't know if this counts as plein air exactly. I believe this is the first building, or enviroment I've painted from reference.

A couple weeks ago I took a walk around the neighbourhood looking for interesting places. Came across this alley between 4 or 5 buildings, did a quick sketch on location and finnished it on the computer at home.
I only regret not being able to capture all the grit and details in the original sketch.

note: the tree is a sillouhette image grabbed from google images, not sure who made it.

Life Drawing 03

3rd life drawing session with the tablet. Tried a new approach with these, painting straight to color without having to do a tonal study first. quite happy with the results. Much learnt, and much more yet to learn.

I'm Batman

I would like to say this is the first in a series of Batman pieces, but that would just jinx it.

The Not So Scary Barbarian Print

Yesterday my "Not So Scary Barbarian" test print arrived. Here are some samples of the book so far, 88 pages including about 24 images. Of course the moment I lay my hands and eyes on the book I found many many faults and things that need to be changed, so again it's back to the editing board to strip away the fat and tone the muscle. Also recieving a lot of assistance from a proffesional in the field of writing by the way of AK Dawson, who will be taking a finger for each error he finds. see his blog here http://www.akdawson.blogspot.com/ and keep an eye out for his books.

Edit: The second test print can now be seen in more recent posts

Cardinal Quest 8-bit game poster

A poster I designed for Cardinal Quest -  http://tinyurl.com/cardinal-quest
They are currently seeking funding so if you are feeling generous head over and supprt the cause.
Decided to go a little bit old school on this piece given its nature, so I headed down to the costume shop where myself and the Lead programmer of the game played dress up. Snapping some beatiful cheap style photos ( on purpose of course ) and made this mish mash of retro-modern gaming.

Nintendo DS Stuff

With the launch of the 3DS on the horizon I was reminded of some pieces I did a few months back for a
DS title, not sure of the name, "dangerous Hunts" or something similar. They were part of a fast action mini game, I got to play the game and found it quite challenging. one day I will buy a games system so I can actually play some of the games I work on.
