Life Drawing 03

3rd life drawing session with the tablet. Tried a new approach with these, painting straight to color without having to do a tonal study first. quite happy with the results. Much learnt, and much more yet to learn.

I'm Batman

I would like to say this is the first in a series of Batman pieces, but that would just jinx it.

The Not So Scary Barbarian Print

Yesterday my "Not So Scary Barbarian" test print arrived. Here are some samples of the book so far, 88 pages including about 24 images. Of course the moment I lay my hands and eyes on the book I found many many faults and things that need to be changed, so again it's back to the editing board to strip away the fat and tone the muscle. Also recieving a lot of assistance from a proffesional in the field of writing by the way of AK Dawson, who will be taking a finger for each error he finds. see his blog here http://www.akdawson.blogspot.com/ and keep an eye out for his books.

Edit: The second test print can now be seen in more recent posts

Cardinal Quest 8-bit game poster

A poster I designed for Cardinal Quest -  http://tinyurl.com/cardinal-quest
They are currently seeking funding so if you are feeling generous head over and supprt the cause.
Decided to go a little bit old school on this piece given its nature, so I headed down to the costume shop where myself and the Lead programmer of the game played dress up. Snapping some beatiful cheap style photos ( on purpose of course ) and made this mish mash of retro-modern gaming.

Nintendo DS Stuff

With the launch of the 3DS on the horizon I was reminded of some pieces I did a few months back for a
DS title, not sure of the name, "dangerous Hunts" or something similar. They were part of a fast action mini game, I got to play the game and found it quite challenging. one day I will buy a games system so I can actually play some of the games I work on.

Shop

Working on an online shop at the moment (to sell stuff like the above image), among other things. So many options it's kind of over whelming. Also the game I have been working on for the last few months is drawing to a close and will hopefully be released to the world soon.

First Sculpture

A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to start sculpting, not for any particular reason. Just thought it would be an interesting hobby. So I ordered some Chavant and got to work. The figure in the picture is 12cm tall, looks bigger in the photos. No head yet, and areas need work. but I'm happy with how its turned out. Sculpting was a lot easier than I thought it would be. but a lot more time consuming that I thought. I also don't have any tools yet so this was done using a wooden chop-stick, a loop of 3mm wire and a paint brush. It's what mcyver would have wanted.

Creepy Bishop Chocolate

I was gifted this a few days ago. It was sitting on my desk waiting for me when I returned from lunch. My first thought was,"what is that in his hand?" Very creepy, though it does add to the authenticity.

End In Sight

Wrapping up my personal book project. doing last few edits and fixes.
After sitting on the shelf for years, it feels good to get it completed.
January I will be running through the first set of test prints to check the product and make any adjustments. And if all goes well the book should be on sale by March 2011.

Wizards Of The Coast

These are many months old but I only found out recently that they had been released for publishing. I'm not exactly sure to what extent they were used, as far as I know it was for a digital based project. Since doing these I've been busy with a long term contract and my own projects. Maybe next year I will get to do some more Wizards work. They are very accepting of the artists impressions and other than a few small points, they let you run with what feels natural.
